- The film essay “CONCEPTUAL PARADISE : There is a place for sophistication”, traces out the debates that allowed the intellectual art movement of “Conceptual art” to emerge in the 1960s and led to the most relevant questions in art today. In the film, artists/ Curators/Theorists speak about their own artistic practices and the socio-historical development of the various conceptual art movements. Within the frame of a three-year film research project, the filmmaker Stefan Römer conducted interviews with numerous outstanding international artists and curators. In engaging in intellectual exchanges before the camera, he is able to develop a special filmic mode of reflecting on the state of international contemporary art.

- About Stefan Römer : He is a German artist, art historian and professor. Stefan Römer is active as an artist and author with the action fields de-conceptual art, criticism of the space, image and text relationships in art and new media and interculturality. He works with film / video, photography, installations, paintings and performances.
