  • All Plays will have english supertitles.
  • Schedule :
  • 10th and 11th December : Lady from the Sea at LTG Auditorium, Dir: Un-Magritt Nordseth Bengali
  • One of the most beautiful of Ibsen’s plays because it is concerned with human longing and the use of metaphors and is powerful because the text deals with the idea of personal freedom. What does it mean to exercise one’s own free will?
  • 12th and 13th December : White Horses at LTG Auditorium, Dir: Jon Tombre Norwegian
  • A drama about the fated lives of Rebecca and Rosmer, who strive to achieve their dreams about truth and innocence, whilst being pursued by the “White Horses of Rosmersholm”, which, according to legend, are synonymous with ghosts from the past and a warning of impending death.
  • 15th December : John Gabriel Borkman at Kamani Auditorium, Dir: Anuradha Kapur Hindi/English
  • The play is based on a true life incident that occurred in the 1850s, of an army officer accused of embezzlement. Ibsen’s version concerns the plight of a banker, Borkman, and his family following his indictment and incarceration, for illegally speculating with his investors’ funds.
  • 16th December : Little Eyolf at Kamani Auditorium, Dir: Neelam Mansingh Punjabi
  • The characters in the play are motivated by illogical impulses and there is no knowing what they will do next. Curiously enigmatic characters, with unsolved and undefined problems.
  • 17th December : When We Dead Awaken at Kamani Auditorium, Dir: Ratan Thiyam Manipuri
  • The performance is designed to express the internal entanglement of characters without distorting the original idea in a different plane with selected dialogues without a change from the original text.
  • 18th December : Ibsen Women at Chinmaya Centre, Lodhi Road, Dir: Juni Dahr Norwegian
  • This production has been performed internationally by Juni Dahr, a leading Norwegian theatre and film actress. Here, she plays six women characters from Ibsen ... Nora, Hedda, Mrs Alving, Ellida, Hilde and Hjørdis, with musical accompaniment by Chris Poole.
  • 19th and 20th December : Seminar from 10 am to 5 pm, Anandgram, MG Road, New Delhi Ibsen in the Indian Context
