Vidya Integrated Development for Youth & Adults is a voluntary organisation with a mission to educate, empower and bring social change in the large community of underprivileged children from the low income group families in Delhi. We also have programmes in Mumbai and Goa. Children are the main focus of Vidya’s programmes and our effort is on providing holistic education, looking at the total child and motivating and guiding him/her to be a good citizen, a proud Indian and a leader of the community he comes from. We aim to offer the best educational opportunity and environment, to our children in our schools and pre schools.
We also work with hundreds of women, from Delhi slums, in an integrated programme covering education, income generation, health and nutrition. We offer micro credit loans to women and run a successful Udyog Kendra, where products are made with hand made paper. Vidya’s core workers are volunteers coming from across the work and a very dedicated staff of over 100 members.
