• Event Details : Artworks by Devdatta Padekar,
• A young artist from Maharashtra. Devdatta was awarded the British Chevening Scholarship in 2004 .He also received the prestigious Elizabeth Green Shields foundation award.
• Devdatta’s new show will be held at Triveni Kala Sangam from the 14th till the 20th of October 2008. The show is titled ‘Resemblance to reality’. He is of the opinion that in any new experience, whether it is seeing a place, a person or an object we tend to relate them to past observations and knowledge. At times the initial resemblance fades away, allowing the current reality to take over.
• The works showcased here present themes that I have painted for first time and some subjects that I have painted time and again. For me, each offers a fresh outlook and a different resemblance embedded in new reality.
