- The details and desciption of the paintings by some of the artists who will be exhibiting their works at Mystiq Art Gallery :-
- Sidharth has utilized the green colour and its shades to please the eye. The subtle tinges of green conveys a serene image of a person at peace with himself and the world around him. There is no hurried image on the canvas, no screaming colours to distract from the peace that oozes from the canvas. The image on the canvas is of a man who seems to be tattooed with various forms of foliage and this also symbolizes the close relationship of man with nature. The man is being supported by an imaginary wall composed of scriptures from holy books. The face on the canvas is one of enlightenment of someone who has crawled out of the distractions and temptations of life, of someone who will not be drawn into the quarrels and greed that lesser mortals spend their lives for.
- Seema has used the female form in various poses and shapes to depict the journey of life from birth to death. The female forms are distinct from one another and its speaks volumes for her art that the images do not diffuse into an overall riot of colours and shapes. One has to look carefully to discern the the various feminine forms and then when you become accustomed to the images, you will be left breathless at the complexity of the work. Its sophisticated yet easily untangile as well. The forms are neither erotic or vulgar. Their seems to be a world of the mortals and immortals who have some influence over the lives of the living. The image portrays the journey of life overlooked by invisible forces. The colours used on the canvas have come from an assorted range of acrylics, mixed media and pen. The fusion in tinges of blue and red and shades of white bring out the beautiful contrast on the canvas.
- Ram Dongre - Ram Dongre's canvas depicts the association mankind has for his creators. The fact that God is the beginning and the end 'Inspite of us forgetting him in our busy lives or in happier moments is so apparent in his canvases with the pictures depicting a severed image. There is a break , but the continuity is maintained. Our beliefs are the essence of our actions and Ram Dongre has made that so obvious in his paintings.
- Jiaur Rahman - The work of Jiaur Rahman titled Friendship:
- Jiaur Rahman's canvas shows the spirit of friendship in a very colourful way. The contrast of the background in a brick reddish colour with the bright yellow and blue adorned by the boys is very powerful, it is attractive, yet subtle, it draws your attention but does not obscure the overall theme of the canvas. All the boys have their backs facing the viewer and are intertwined with each other as each has his arm over the shoulders of his friend and their is a sort of wrinkle on their garments that seem to run across all the boys, a force or common sense of purpose seem to be binding them all. Their is an unmistakable sense of common purpose that these lads are pursuing.
- Jiaur Rahman has used water color on paper to portray the life in a rural area that is close to either a river or the sea. The liberal use of white, brown, green and blue has brought to life the day to day activities you'd associate in such idyllic surroundings.
- You have fisherman cherishing the days catch, surveying their nets for any damages, baskets over laden with fish ready to be sold. Others are viewing the horizon as they wait for their folk to return from the sea. The entire portrait is done in blue, earthy browns and silver hues. The sea is a riot of blue and the ocean reaching the shore and spreading its white foamy spray is vividly captured.
- Then there is this depiction of what seems a corridor of power in yester years. The columns now seem dilapidated and the vibrant colors that probably adorned the walls is now just a memory. The floors that were trodden by the powers that be are now barren and eroded with the passage of time. Rahman's use of subdued colors in no way takes away the feeling that this was once something important. The corridor leads to a passage way ending into an entrance, the top of which has an unmistakable presence of what is probably a coat of arms. The image is of a power subdued, lost in the passage of time.
- Rahman also contrasts rural life with urban life as well. What catches the eye and numbs the senses is the loneliness the town represents. Mortar, bricks and electrical poles seem more close to each other, rather than human beings. The blackish background of an urban surrounding, of people lost in their own world gives out vibes that are uncomfortable.
- Contrast that with the canvas depicting a rural setting. Its as if you have just wiped clean a murky window and can now see everything clearly. The scene is friendly and welcoming. Dogs, sheep and chickens are seen mingling together. The houses are mere huts, but they are homes and not houses of the city. The rural surroundings are clean and not cluttered with the waste associated with an urban landscape. The image is one of an unhurried life associated with the villages.
- Pankaj Saroj : Pankaj Saroj has used various colors and surreal shapes to portray rural surroundings. The earthy browns and different hues of green illustrate the rural world in all its complexity and simplicity as well. There is a liberal use of flowers adorning his works.
- Human forms are discernable in his canvas, forms celebrating rural life and rural occasions, like harvesting, birth, marriage and so on. The paintings will strike out by the fact that the human forms are depicted with myriad forms and colors. At first glance the painting will seem like a bouquet of flowers, but then you will be astonished to discover the human forms the artists has so wonderfully conjured up.
- The association of man and nature whether it be vegetation or with animals is very beautifully portrayed. Just as the colors used seem inseparable, so does the association and dependence of man with his surroundings. The artist has used green and floral colours when depicting nature, and brownish and reddish colours depicting animals that you'd associate with rural fauna. The human forms are not draped with clothes but with the flora of a rural surrounding. So you will notice leaves and flowers adorning the human shapes. The background of the paintings is all done in earthy hues; this makes the centre of the painting standout in a sharp and sometimes subtle contrast. Green hued human forms can be seen in poses that seem to suggest, that Mother Nature is being revered, which it is. You can be forgiven if you get carried away and find your senses engulfed with all the things that you normally associate with the villages.
