• About Colours : Colours is the first dance piece devised by In step Dance Company.
• 7 dancers dancing 7 colours, to connect to various aspects of the self.
• This work has been about connecting to the energies of colours and explore the ways colours would express themselves through the Human form: through the senses, through thoughts and images, through emotions, textures and qualities which are translated into movements. The challenge for the dancers being to remain as transparent as possible not to manipulate or modify the energy expressed by the colour. High task you would say !! Yes, these 7 dialogues of one Human being with one colour have been sometimes painful, often surprising but always rewarding. The reward of discovering new aspects of oneself, the reward of healing wounds or letting go of dark secrets, in a true exploration and celebration of the self.

• About In Step : In Step is a dance Company which aims at reconnecting with the essence of dance. Human beings have forgotten the true meaning and power of dance. Dance is far more than just form, dance is about the energy flowing into the various layers of the Human life, not only physical, but also mental, emotional and more over spiritual.
• Dance in various traditions has been used for its spiritual dimension : Red Indian ritual dances were performed to heal souls and connect to the forces of nature. In ancient Greece, the Bacchanals were celebrating the god Dionysos in full abandon through cosmic and therapeutic dances. In India too, the language of hands in classical dance forms can be traced to the symbolic formulae of sacrificial rites. And to speak of a last emblematic figure, Rumi, after meeting his master in Shams, opened himself to a direct communion with the divine through music and dance, as opposed to the scholarly research he was pursuing previously.
• India has a role to play to revive this connection, through colourful dances of heart and soul, far from grey concepts of the mind. Dance has this tremendous potential of connecting; connecting people to their true self; connecting audiences to higher vibrations. The physical body can indeed be a temple for experimentation; a divine laboratory to find the sacred space within, making dance the true bridge to the soul.
• The Company works at providing platforms ( performances, dance classes, dance meditation workshops ) for everyone (children from all backgrounds, dancers and professionals) to tap into their full potential, to dance their life, in harmony with all dimensions, in step with the universe.
