Overview : Delhi is hosting Commonwealth Games in the year 2010. The dates for the games are 3rd to 14th October, 2010 including opening & closing ceremonies. Generally the weather during the months of October & November is minimum of 17.2 degrees centigrade and maximum 31.3 degrees centigrade with humidity ranging from 31 to 78%. Commonwealth Games Village is under construction which can house 8500 athletes & officials in this 40 acres area. Existing and new stadiums will be used to house the following sports:
Archery, Aquatics, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Elite Athletes with a Disability (EAD) Events, Gymnastics, Hockey, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Rugby 7s, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
Delhi won the right to host the 2010 Games by defeating the Canadian city of Hamilton by 46 votes to 22 at the CGF General Assembly held in Montego Bay in November 2003.
