• Moumala and Monisa , the duo sisters in Kathak dance have widely performed in India & abroad since last fifteen years . Moumala , disciple of Kathak Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj and Monisa , disciple of Guru Shri Rajendra Gangani -- both have been awarded with ‘Sangeet Kala Ratna’ by Maatri Udbodhan Ashram , ‘Talent Search Scholarship’ by CCRT, Govt. of India and ‘Merit Scholarship’ by Kathak Kendra , National Institute of Kathak Dance , New Delhi . Moumala has the credit of receiving Dr. Ambedkar Kalashri Award 1999 by Delhi Chief minister Smt. Shiela Dixit and ‘National Scholarship’ by Ministry of H.R.D., Govt. of India . She has done her Sangeet Praveen , M.A. in Kathak dance from Prayag Sangeet Samiti , Allahabad and B.A. in Hindustani Vocal Classical Music from Kurukshetra University. Monisa has done Post Diploma , M.A. in Kathak dance from Kathak Kendra , New Delhi and Senior Diploma from Prayag Sangeet Samiti , Allahabad .
• Besides performing in several major dance festivals of India , the sisters have visited Austria , Poland , Lieuthania , Slovakia , Canada ,USA , Italy , Burma , Malaysia , China , Muskut , Doha , Switzerland , London , Zurich , Kuwait etc. for presentation of their art forms . Moumala & Monisa have been empanelled in ICCR Reference list of artistes and been ‘A’ graded by Delhi Doordarshan Kendra . Both have executed various Lecture – demonstrations and Workshops in Kathak dance time to time .
• Academically merit listed , the interest and creativity of the sisters spread in other allied fields of art namely Hindustani Classical Music , Painting , Dress – designing , poetry etc. They have been deputed as judge as well as examiner in different music – dance exams – competitions of various Universities . Presently both of them have been imparting their wizardry in Kathak dance at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya , New Delhi .
