About Amit Dahiya Badshah : Delhi Poetree is founded by Amit Dahiyabadshah who has been recognised as Poet Laureate of the Senior Environment Corps Center in The Park G. Town Philadelphia and As Poet In Residence of the Global Constitution Forum Philadelphia.
Amit Dahiyabadshah is a successful working Poet and his efforts working methods are a revelation to other poets in finding dignity and empowerment as successful promoters of poetry in general and their own works in particular. He is the author of Seven collections of Poetry of which the latest is America In A Brown Eye His book for children entitled Murugan's Trees is being Translated into 23 languages.

About Delhi Poetree :
  • It is a movement to achieve the following :
  • Give the city of Delhi 30 readings of poetry each month across the city at 8 venues on a fixed day and time.
  • To identify and edify 100 Contemporary poets as the Living Treasure of Delhi.
  • To facilitate the empowerment of poets by enabling them to sell their published works directly to readers.
  • To use poetry to promote responsible citizenship to help improve Delhi on a continuous basis.
Over 100 poets have been identified, recognised and featured thru readings at fixed venues. Each poets is edified by high quality photographic portraits shot by Award winning photographer Shikha Khanna. These are used to design and print hi quality posters, invitations and visiting cards as also electronic communications to promote the recognition of poets in the city.
DelhiPoetree does not charge admission fee for any of its events. DP has not received even a penny of aid from Government. DelhiPoetree has delivered more support to poets than many organisations that have been in existence for decades and whose resources are far greater than DP's.
DelhiPoetree is an inclusive movement that does not suffer from elitist ego problems while striving for high standards in poetry abnd its promotion. DelhiPoetree events are marked by good timing, gracious conduct and quality poetry. The environmenmt is safe for women and over 50 percent of the new poets are women.
DelhiPoetree has ben featured on BBC world service and NDTV as also in the premium print media in both news papers and magazines.Coverage of DP events and poets is more than twenty times the media coverage of all other poetry groups combined.

  7. I do not believe that the proper identification and edification of te poets has been done. Even poets in the scene have not been included in the fold of the new book "In many voices". I truly feel it is not proper for poets to get involved in such commercial projects.

    Then how the hell do you expect us to earn a living?? where do we get the money to feed our stomachs from??

    Poetry must sell to flourish...for if poetry does not sell, there will be no poets. And without poets, there can be no poetry.

  12. i have got a book published but aint yet selling it. i really want to know how to attend these and the procedure for it as quite a few above do. i cant say am really good with my poems, but i am noteworthy. would like to improve by attending these. thankz.
