An online programme in drama and storytelling

The pandemic has held us all home. While theatre and drama are quintessentially the social activities of our times in the prescribed “social distancing” scenario, we are constantly thinking of alternatives while retaining the energy and learning.

About The Programme

The Summer Dream 2020 will be organised online with 10-15 participants across varied timezones. The participant will be the writer and director under the mentorship of Kuljeet Singh (theatre practitioner and actor).

Process

After the first few introductory sessions, all the participants will start writing the scripts and cast the house members as actors. They will rehearse at home and share the progress with the mentor. There will an online showcasing at the end of the programme.

Dates & Duration

In total there will be 7 sessions of 90 mins each starting June 30 (Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-4.30pm). The programme will run for three weeks.

Module 1: Learning to write stories. Understanding various ways of writing.

Module 2: Learning to make skits out of stories.

Module 3: Learning to write songs and poems.

Module 4: Learning to integrate script and songs.

Module 5: Learning to direct a skit/play.

Module 6: Learning to polish up the play in making.

Module 7: Learning Video making.

All the videos made by the participants will be edited professionally and promoted across Atelier social media platforms reaching out to almost 20,000 audiences.

Contribution

Each participant will be expected to contribute INR 5,000/- towards the programme.
