Event Description : प्रयुत्सु ( The Yoddha) - | Ahead of 72nd Independence Day celebration, an ode to our warriors by the Kathak exponent Sanchita Abrol a disciple of Padma Shri Guru Shovana Narayan.

Celebrating 72nd Independence Day to pay tribute and to remember all the freedom fighters who fought for the Independence, the Kathak exponent and cultural entrepreneur, Sanchita Abrol, is coming with her new dance production to Zorawar Theatre. A disciple of Padma Shri Guru Shovana Narayan, Sanchita will present the dance  “प्रयुत्सु”- Adorning with Pride, an ode to our warriors, to pay homage to the brave soldiers of our country. The dance drama has been curated, scripted and directed by Sanchita Abrol.

The performance, is based on the classical Dogri poetry by renowned poet Late Group Captain Randhir Singh, the only Indian Air Force officer to be conferred with the Sahitya Akademi award and the  poetry by the great Indian Poetess who left her indelible mark in Indian Literature, a freedom fighter and Padma Bhushan awardee, Mahadevi Verma . Accompanying these distinguished poets is the author, Ayushman Jamwal. The performance will be presented in collaboration with Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust.

The purpose behind the projects that she chooses to do is to “re-imagine our cultural communities” with Kathak. “ Dance acts as a  means of tying different strands together by a common thread. As a classical dancer, I feel a sense of responsibility to bring the many colors of Indian art and culture to the world. My purpose is to strengthen the bonds within communities and the bonds between communities, ensuring the very fabric of India.” Says Sanchita Abrol

Sanchita said that Kathak dance is essentially a complete phenomenon, integrating the rhythmic resources of poetry, movement and music  while following the roots as described by the Natya Shastra, to enhance the aesthetics of the experience. This performance is an ode to the warriors, celebrating and enacting their bravery in carrying their duty to protect the country with an unbounded spirit of patriotism. The performance illustrates the life of a soldier, missing home, yet willing to leave behind everything to serve the nation. The inner voice of the warrior is filled with emotions but the strength embodied in the imagery of courage depicts the desire to protect the country. Music has been provided by Madho Prasad and the vocalists are Jitendraa Singh and Lovely Chandra, musicians Mahaveer Gangani and Yogesh Gangani.
