Event Description : THEATRE : Subrung Theatre Group presents "Har Guruvaar" Hindi Play.
Paying homage to the undying spirit of Stephen Hawking, the genius who recently passed away, The Subrung Theatre Group is staging two shows of their hindi play 'HAR GURUVAAR' a hindi play inspired by Mitch Album's best selling world classic:"Tuesdays with Morrie".
This inspiring play tells the story of a man, ‘Professor Sapre’ who is dying because of Motor Neuron Disease, which (only a few days ago) took the life Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest scientists and most inspiring people ever! But that's not the only thing they have in common. Like Hawking, Sapre refuses to let impending death bog him down. Prof Sapre likes Hawking because he lived his life to the fullest in spite of suffering from Motor Neuron Disease.
The play was directed by ‘several national awards winning director’ "Rajinder Nath", who is a Hindi theatre personality regarded as indispensable for contemporary Indian drama.
This popular play has not only received critical praise, but was also invited by the National School of Drama to participate in the 8th Theatre Olympics, where the play was performed in front of a full house audience who appreciated the play a lot.
The Cast of the inspiring play includes names like Manu Sikander Dhingra, Sanjiv Johri, Mala Kumar, Rekha Malhotra Johri & others.
SYNOPSIS OF THE PLAY
Prof. Sapre is dying because of Motor Neuron Disease, which (only a few days ago) took the life Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest scientists and most inspiring people ever! But that's not the only thing they have in common. Like Hawking, Sapre refuses to let impending death bog him down.
An old favourite student of his,who is now blindly ambitious and trying to outrun everyone else in the rat race,pays him a courtesy visit. To his utter amazement,he finds that his teacher's days are full of fun and laughter! He gets curious about his sir's views on life,and starts meeting him every Thursday ('Har Guruvaar')
"HAR GURUVAAR" is an inspiring play by Subrung Theatre group that will take place at Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi.
