Event Description : MUSIC / DANCE : Shiv-Yin 

Shiv Yin is a rare performance, bringing China and India together through dance and music.

Dynamic, high powered Chinese contemporary dance comes together with eloquent and impressive Indian classical dance to tell a modern love story, which  traverses the emotions of desire, passion, anger, jealousy and ultimate union. The powerful and compelling music composed for this piece, enhances the experience. 

The performance explores the concept of the male and the female  through two distinct cultures. In a larger context Shiv Yin searches for commonalities between two great civilizations.

Shiv-Yin has already been performed to full houses and standing ovations in Beijing, Fuzhou, Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa &Ahmadabad and has been greatly appreciated by the public and press alike.

World renowned choreographer and dancer Rukmini Chatterjee has conceptualized and created Shiv-Yin. 

Chinese contemporary choreographer Aimin Teng is the co-choreographer and acclaimed musician and composer Bickram Ghosh has composed the music.
