Event Description : TALK : 2nd India Property Rights Conference (IPRC)  

IPRC 2016 will feature the global launch of International Property Rights Index 2016 and a presentation by the author of the index, Prof. Sary Levy-Carciente, Professor of Economics at Universidad Central de Venezuela. It will also feature three panel discussions- one each on Rule of Law, Physical Property Rights and Intellectual Property Rights. 

Strong property rights upheld by a stable political environment have become mandatory for countries aspiring to be among the most developed in the world. International Property Rights index has proven to be the most inclusive and far reaching study on the correlation between property rights and economic prosperity worldwide. 

Prof. Sary Levy-Carciente, the 2016 Hernando de Soto Fellow, has provided an outstanding update of the Index not only in terms of research analysis and data collection, but also analysis of the relationship between different dimensions of development with property rights related components, including: Economic outcomes, Human Capabilities, Social Capital, Research and Innovation, and Ecological Performance. The 2016 edition of the IPRI focuses on 128 countries representing 98.26 percent of the world Gross Domestic Product and 92.92 percent of the world population.
