Event Description : LILA PRISM Lecture 'Education and Transformative Governance' lecture by Kavita Sharma, President, South Asian University Delhi, is a discussion on a transformational model of education that helps the South Asian region reach its full potential.
South Asia is an integrated whole with its shared geography, cultural and spiritual inheritances. On the other hand, low development indices in the region contradict its multiple strengths. This complex situation anticipates a transformational educational model to help the region realise its full potential. This raises the issue of creating an ecosystem where traditional knowledge systems creatively interact with the craft traditions. It is in discovering these linkages within the broad framework of equitable access, technical and vocational training that South Asia can curate its shared destiny.
