Event Description : Dr. C. Raja Mohan is a Distinguished Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation and leads the Strategic Studies Initiative of the Foundation.
He is also a foreign affairs columnist for ’The Indian Express’, a Visiting Research Professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies, Singapore, a Non-Resident Senior Associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Washington DC and a non-resident fellow at the Lowy Institute, Sydney.
His books include, ’Crossing the Rubicon: The Shaping of India’s New Foreign Policy’ (2004) and ’Impossible Allies: Nuclear India, United States and the Global Order’ (2006). ’Samudra Manthan :Sino-Indian Rivalry in the Indo-Pacific’ (2013).
His latest book, Modi’s World, is a contemporary commentary on foreign policy under India’s new Prime Minister, noting both the continuities with the past, but significant departures as well. In this talk, based on his book, Dr. Raja Mohan will articulate the challenges India faces in navigating a rapidly transforming regional and international landscape.
At the end of this talk, over snacks, we will connect live via weblink to an event at the University of Chicago campus in Hyde Park to discuss the transformative power of data-driven analysis to address the greatest foreign policy challenge of our time.
