Event Description : Gati Dance Forum presents "Dance Writing" Workshop by Sanjoy Roy.

Influenced by Kalaripayattu and other martial arts forms, this workshop is structured around the elements of floor technique, stretching, work and combinations/repertoire, focusing mainly on the dancer's relationship with space and the people around. Working on fundamentals such as breath, speed and energy, the class focuses on engaging and strengthening the core structure aof the body. Currently based out of Bangalore, Abhilash Ningappa is a performer teacher and choreographer. A yoga practitioner and martial arts teacher trained in Kalaripayattu and contemporary dance, he started his training in Indian andlater trained and worked in Europe. Abhilash did his post graduation is Sead (Salzburg) and Post Masters in APASS (Advance performance and scenography studies) (Belgium) on movement research project called play practice.
