Event Description : "Five Essentials: Exploring the Space" a collaborative Exhibition of Paintings in Oils, Acrylic, Mixed Media and Photographs by Rajinder Kaur Pasricha, Ambalicka Sood Jacob, Sukhranjan k. Cheema, Daljit Kaur, Jasmine Kaur.

The exhibition includes the art works of 5 artists from the Malwa Region who have worked in their own nitche but in individual manner. All 5 artists are connected with each other through teh fragrance of their land, intense emotions and passions. The artists Dr. Rajinder Kaur Pasricha has painted on the themes of Punjabi women and their intimate lives. She feels deeply related to life and nuances of the women of teh Past, Present and Future. Dr. Ambalicka Sood Jacob relives the intense moments of joy through her close association to human nature and its intricate understanding. The quest to understand the 'Truth' is ever present in all her works. She disected the human nature in various situations and tried to find out the permanent elements which perhaps remain alive forever. Dr. Sukhranjan K. Cheema has brought alive the folk motifs of the Malwa Region with her strokes on the canvas and her experimentation with mixed media. Her prominent motifs are from teh Phulkari and other folk creations which became teh lessons for teh coming generations. Mrs. Daljit Kaur Chinna has worked on 'Phattis' and canvas alike.
The installation through the number of them displayed emphasizes the play of the role in her childhood in the Malwa region. Though living in US, she still sketches the reminenses of her childhood, in her works. Mrs. Jasmine Kaur has brought to use the ceremonial motifs with the dexterity of her hands. She makes her mind, heart and hand, work in unison to live the moments of her dreams. This exhibition is a mirror of human psyche for the present time particularly for those who are living in metropolitan cities.
