Event Description : The insects are the most diverse and important group of animals on land. There are more species of insects than all other land animals put together. Insects live in all habitats and occupy any microhabitat you can imagine. They can be predators, prey, parasites, hosts, herbivores, or decomposers.

Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary is blessed with immense biodiversity of both flora and fauna. And, voila! Monsoons are here. This fun filled season is also the time when you can see loads of insects crawling on the forest floor and in the bushes feeding on nectar.

In Asola you can spot species of butterflies, dragonflies, moths, beetles, bugs and yeah if you include the crawly, spiders too. But then as you know spiders have eight legs, they are not insects, they are arachnids. We see insects for the miniature marvels they represent and to understand how intertwined our cultures have become with these alien creatures. We also have a brand new butterfly garden and its flowers are in their full bloom. You will be enthralled by the vibrant butterflies encircling you and you won’t be able to stop yourself from reciting an old Wordsworth’s verse.

CEC welcomes you to the wonderful world of insects; the most successful life forms on planet. We bring to you an insect safari where you will explore these magnificent creatures in the astounding unexplored patches of Asola.
