Event Description : Richter String Quartet of Israel Philharmonic Orchestra live. 
The performance is jointly organized by the Representative Office of the Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo" in India, the Embassy of Israel and the Russian Embassy in New
Delhi as part of the Festival of Israeli Culture in India.
As part of the string quartet will perform: Ilya Konovalov (first violin), Schmuel Glaser (second violin), Dmitry Ratush (viola) and Felix Nemirovsky (cello).

Ilya Konovalov was born in Novosibirsk in 1977. At the age of 7 he commenced his music studies. During this time he became a prize winner in Wieniawski International Violin Competition. He later studied at the Vienna Academy of Music. He has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the "Moscow Virtuosi", the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra,the Israel Sinfonieta Beer-Sheva, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra "Musica Viva", the Saint Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow State Symphony and others. He played chamber music with many prominent artists, among them Alexnder Rudin, Yuri Bashmet, Rudolf Buchbinder, Lynn Harell , Arkady Zenziper, Dora Schwarzberg, Steven Isserlis, Misha Maisky.
Schmuel Glaser was born in Vilna, Lithuania. He started his violin studies at the age of 7 and was accepted to the Arts School of Vilna. He continued his studies at the Academy of
Vilna. In 1980, he immigrated to Israel and joined the Beer Sheva Sinfonietta under the direction of Mendi Rodan. Schmuel joined the IPO in 1987, and in 2006 became a member of the newly formed IPO String Quartet. He plays on a Johannes Gagliano violin which is from the collection of the Israel Philharmonic.
Dmitry Ratush, assistant principal violist of the Israel Philharmonic orchestra, became a founding member of the IPO Richter string quartet. He made his debut in New York at the Merkin Concert Hall in 1991. Dmitry, among the leading string players in Israel. He is a founding member of the Chamber Ensemble Millennium, at Targ Music Center in Jerusalem. Mr. Ratush appears as a soloist and chamber musician all over the world in International Festivals and Chamber Music Series.
Felix Nemirovsky was born in Tashkent in 1963. He was accepted to the Genessins Musical Academy in Moscow. At the age of 22 moved to Moldavia where became principal cello of the Moldavian Opera Theater and principal of the Moldavian Radio Chamber Orchestra. In 1990, he brought his family to Israel and joined first the Rishon LeZion Orchestra and later the Camerata Ensemble of Rehovot under Avner Biron. Mr. Felix Nemirovsky was a founding member of the Tel Aviv Chamber Music Ensemble.
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1936 by Bronislaw Huberman and its
inaugural concert, on 26 December 1936, was conducted by Arturo Toscanini. The IPO plays in subscription series, including a special annotated Youth Concert Series, special concerts, concerts as part of the "Arts for the People" project throughout Israel, and special concerts for IDF soldiers at their outposts. The IPO annually tours the world's cultural centers and its prestigious festivals. Israel's creative artists are promoted by many IPO premieres of works by Israeli composers.
