About Deborah Abel : Deborah Abel has created Modern Dance concerts of her own choreography since 1992. In 2012, Abel was awarded the Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship in Choreography.

Calling to You is a dance drama that explores the integration of ancient cultural wisdom into our modern understanding of human connection. The company’s resident composer, Lee Perlman, collaborates to create original works of live music, which evolve in conversation with the choreography. The concert is conceived as a whole, creating a universe into which the audience is invited to enter.
