Akshara is presenting two tales: Come Back – horror excitingly frightful, and Warp Speed – fantasy with laughs and music and dance. Acted by Diksha kids and Akshara acting interns. An early evening not to be missed with refreshments in the interval.
Warp Speed and Comeback are two modern children’s stories that have been transformed into a thrilling stage production by Jalabala Vaidya.
Warp Speed by Mridula Koshy is a hilarious sibling feud-turned space adventure featuring sisters Salima and Surya and brother Akshay squabbling at the dining table while doing their Homework. Their quarrelling soon turns into a magical journey in which they are joined by a Penguin and an Owl on an intergalactic search for the ultimate Driver’s License.
Comeback by Trisha Ray is a chilling tale of supernatural revenge, in which a bullied schoolboy extracts a bloodthirsty revenge from his tormentors.
The stories have been taken from a collection titled Whispers in the Classroom Voices on the Field edited by journalist and author Richa Jha and published by Wisdom Tree.
Talented young Akshara actors Mahima Saigal, Dhruv Shetty, Yashna Shetty, Shriya Kishore, Khagolim Negi, Bani Jain, Adityavikram Singh Mann, Akshat Boudh and Kaustabh Chaukiyal enact the stories. Both plays are in English.
