Event Details : 'A Short Story About Media Arts' a lecture by Heike Ander.
In her lecture Heike Ander will give a short introduction to the subject of Media Arts in Germany, in particular with regard to the perspective of Cologne where – with the formation of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne – in the late 1980s an art school has been founded dedicated particularly to the studies of media arts. Moreover, Heike Ander will extend her reflections to aspects related to “Documentary Methods in Art”, the title of a symposium that took place recently at the art school’s auditorium.

About the Speaker : Heike Ander (born in Stuttgart) studied Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practices at the University of Hildesheim. Since 2008 she is based in Cologne working as Curator of Exhibitions and Co-operations at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. She is Artistic Director of the art school’s gallery called „Glasmoog“ (named after a former glazier’s workshop located at the site).
