Event Details : 'Polemics of a Soul Catcher' Recent Works by Satish Sharma.
'Cabined, cribbed and confined' is a famous expression by Macbeth, the great Shakespearean tragic hero. Perhaps, the greatest bard of all times had already seen the existential angst of the whole of human race within the dilemma of that one hero who had killed his innocent friend for power
and influence. Contemporary human beings do not kill their friends literally. But at each juncture, within the confined spaces of physical urban existence human beings kill each other for supremacy, power and ultimately survival. Survival is not just a Darwinian idea for and of the fittest. Here the fittest proves his might not through intelligence, but through arrogance and avarice. Urban spaces have become the spaces of hierarchies and compartmentalization. Though it is perceived that
urban spaces offer equal opportunity to people, these places have now become the cauldrons of power and ideological contestations and class struggles.
