Artist's comment : I am Tulika Mohan, 14 years of age and I study in Sanskriti School. I’ve been attracted to colours ever since I can remember. Not a specific one, just the fact that they can change your opinion and outlook of the ordinary. When I was younger, I used to sit in the middle of boxes of crayons, reveling in their scent and the effect they made on paper. I have been learning for 4 years now, discovering what all one can do with a blank canvas and absorbing different techniques. I enjoy using a palette knife; it makes broad sweeping strokes on the canvas, and intensifies the colours. My inspiration is music, and most of my compositions originate from their lyrics. Over the years I’ve evolved as a person through art, from making colourful striped flowers at age 3 to putting blobs of paint and water on the canvas in hopes of creating something new, but my obsession with colour hasn’t changed.
My Exhibition entitled ‘Colours In Progress’ is an expression of the enjoyment I derive from colours. Not only is this exhibition extra special because it is my 1st; but also because it is dedicated to the street and abandoned animals particularly dogs and cats. I am doing this show for Friendicoes SECA, an NGO that works for street animals. I aim to raise money for them by selling my paintings. I do know that my paintings are not ‘masterpieces’ but they are extra special, and I can promise you that owning them will make you smile in the thought that you shared my  exuberance and my cause.

Friendicoes SECA is a non profit organization working for the welfare of stray animals in Delhi and the NCR. Registered in 1979 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, the organization completed 30 years in March 2009 and over a period of three decades the services have also expanded. The need of the day has gradually turned us from a hospital into a shelter and we now also have a sanctuary for all those animals who do not have a home and for various reasons cannot survive on the road. Between the hospital cum shelter in Delhi and the sanctuary in Gurgaon we have over 1500 animals under our care
and shelter.
