Event Details : 'Hindustani and Carnatic Music: A Comparative Demonstration' Lecture-demonstration by Dr M. Narmadha, who has mastered both Carnatic and Hindustani traditions. As part of Music Appreciation Promotion series.
Demonstrating how ragas are used in bandishes and kirtanas, the speaker will bring out what distinguishes the two systems. She will also show how the strength of riaz and fidelity to tradition is intrinsic to both, and how at a certain level they unite seamlessly.
