'Welcome to my shack' Hinglish Comedy Play.

A comedy based on an idea by Roland Topor written by Solvene Tiffou and Sarita Vohra

Basanti, a generous press walli (street ironing lady) lets a poor chai walla (street tea seller) set up house under her table. And yet people get on with their lives as if everything was normal. 

Well… not for long.

How can Basanti’s good heart triumph, when indifference and prejudices prevail in our unyielding society?

Could wit, singing, dancing and colours be part of the solution?

Stageing, London, is collaborating with Living Room Theatre, Delhi, to bring us this Hinglish comedy set on the Delhi streets and inspired by Roland Topor’s acclaimed French play “L’hiver sous la table”.

Solvene Tiffou founded Stageing, a company with the aim to bring older people on to the stage and raise awareness of their untapped potential and often lonely condition.

Sarita Vohra created the Living Room Theatre, a now leading Delhi theatre company, to tackle difficult social topics on the stage.

 They both believe that comedy and entertaining performances are a powerful way to sensitize us to essential issues.

(All the gains of the two shows will be donated to a Delhi based old age home.)
