Event Details : South Asia Buddhist Association(SABA) is celebrating 900 years of the Karma Kagyu Lineage(Parinirvana of the 1st Karmapa)
• The celebration marks the completion of 900 years of the Karma Kagyu lineage • It is a month long celebration that ends on 30th December at Bodhgaya • The event in Delhi begins with a traditional ceremonial arrival of 14th Shamarpa, Shamar Rinpoche, the Red Hat Karmapa • The prayers will be offered to Buddha by using different musical instruments and chanting of mantras. Everyone can participate in the offerings and be a part of the spiritually energetic atmosphere. • To commemorate the auspicious occasion the monks (Lamas) from across the country, Nepal & Tibet will get together in a customary procession to do a ‘Kora’ (circle) of the area around the monastery. • About a Km long procession ends with the devotees lighting candles around the monastery. • The devotees and guests are requested to stay back for Prasad followed by tea and snacks.
