Event Details : Galleria presents “Between Imagination & Reality,” --- a group show of six eminent artists and the perceptions of their minds as opposed to what is actually seen. The exhibition includes charcoal and mixed media on paper and acrylic and oils on canvas.  

‘Who Am I’? A charcoal and pencil work by artist Abhimanyu Ray depicts the human being as a synthesis of what other people perceive, and what he really is. While large canvas works by Pradosh Swain defy the imagination with human forms contoured around a ball, paper works by Datta Bansode transforms The Buddha into a towering figment of his imagination, larger than life, giving benediction to the dwarfed devotee. In Sujata Bajaj’s multi-layered works, both imagery with her colours and forms on canvas   are superimposed with her real ancient scripts. Muraly Nagapuzha vividly renders natural flora and fauna on his canvases in such a profusion of colours that the viewer wonders if it is real. In Viraj Naik’s paper works, mythical creatures sprout wings, a bumble bee plays onlooker, and real animals are imaginatively rendered to form new unreal species. 

The exhibition brings together various artists, united in their diversity and artistic expressions. The visual language is eclectic and includes a vibrant palette, exquisite strokes, strong textures, inimitable artistic styles and dynamic energy. All in all a sheer visual delight!
