Event Details : The Dimensions of the Plane - Communication Design in Germany.
We depend on effective communication to navigate through the information jungle that is surrounding us. Corporate design, digital media, graphic design, typography, way-finding and signage systems aim to help us immediately spot what we need, e.g. to find the right way or recognize the desired product.
Current trends of German Communication Design will be shown in the contemporary exhibition “The Dimension of Surface-Communication Design in Germany”. It consists of 150 recent works by influential designers and gives a comprehensive overview of current works by renowned design agencies, such as Johannes Erler, Mike Meiré, Joachim Sauter, Erik Spiekmann and Andreas Uebele. Their particular strengths and specialisations highlight the five principles of two-dimensional communication design.
Since German Communication Design has been highly regarded in the past decades, the exhibition also captures where current trends come from and reflects on the effect of graphic and visual designs of the past continues to the present day.
