Event Details : Empowerment is organizing an Art Exhibition of children at Open Palm Court Gallery, India Habitat Centre, on the 30th of May, Sunday. The theme of the show is ‘Great Artists- an Inspiration’. Around 80 children from different schools of Delhi are participating in the show. Under the supervision of Artists Kumar Vikas Saxena and Sonika Agarwal various movements and styles of painters have been brought together under one umbrella by children. This exhibition aims to map out a popular history of painting from medieval times to the present day.

While working for the exhibition, children learned Art Appreciation and got the knowledge about the various movements in the History of Art. They also learned about a wide variety of methods that have been employed by artists through the ages to create paintings.

In the exhibition of children people can see the connections between the paintings of Manet and Goya, or the equivalence between the emotional weight of a Rothko and a Caravaggio. The challenge of the exhibition is to guide people to make these associations, as well as to inspire and inform.

The hon'ble Chief Guest of the show is Mr. Virendra Gupta, Director General, Indiaan Council for Cultural Relation and Additional Secretart, Ministry of External Affairs.
