Event Description : MOVIE 'Shodo Girls' Japanese film screening with English Subtitles.
Short Synopsis: Set in the city of Shikoku Chuo in Ehime prefecture, ‘the City of Paper’ has since lost its former status due to recession. Many students from the Shikoku Chuo High School have had to suffer with their family businesses having to close shop and move. This
hits the school calligraphy club particularly hard with Satoko, the captain of the club
trying hard to rein back on a disintegrating team. Gradually, with the help of a reluctant substitute teacher, Satoko and her teams learn to overcome their differences and come together to a ‘Calligraphy Performance Contest’ in an effort to revitalize their beloved home town.
