Event Description : THEATRE : George's "Marvellous Medicine" English Comedy Play for Kids by The Birmingham Stage Company

Amity University, in aid of Amity Humanity Foundation, is bringing for the first time in India, a world renowned children’s play George’s Marvellous Medicine.

The play has been written by Roald Dahl, considered ‘one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century’, and the author of extremely popular books for children like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, 'Matilda' and 'The BFG'. In 2008, The Times had placed Dahl 16th on its list of "The 50 Greatest British Writers since 1945"

The play is a story about a young boy who makes a marvellous new medicine to cure his grandmother of her terrifying temper. But when his grandmother drinks his special new potion, the most incredible things start to happen. The play is the perfect doze of fizz tickling fun for all the family!

It is being presented by The Birmingham Stage Company (BSC), one of the world's leading producers of theatre for children and their families. Established over 25 years ago, it has worked with Britain's finest writers including David Walliams, Terry Deary and David Wood among others.

The play adaptation has been done by David Wood, whose plays, numbering 61 till date, have been performed all over the world and include 'The Gingerbread Man', 'The Owl' and 'The Pussycat went to see...', 'The Selfish Shellfish'. He has been awarded an OBE for services to literature and drama in 2004.
