Event Description : The Raj Art Initiative presents Strings Inspire Strokes – A beautiful juxtaposition of Sitar and strokes with Grammy Nominated Ustad Shujaat Khan & Child Prodigy Aarav Verma

This year on the 1st of October will witness a new milestone in the history of classical music when the acclaimed sitar maestro and Grammy Award nominee Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan will come together with the 10 year old child prodigy Aarav Verma to weave music and hues together at Sri Sathya Sai Auditorium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Presented by The Raj Art Initiative & Curated by Perfect Harmony Productions, "Strings Inspire Strokes", will play host to the resonance of the Sitar immaculately intertwining with the multihued strokes on a blank canvas. The event will feature a live performance accompanied by a simultaneous live painting for the first time ever on a public platform and is open to all.

“It is the first time ever that a collaboration of this nature will be cherished and celebrated and we are excited to see these two generations mesmerize the spectators through their craft”, says Sumeet Nath, founder of The Raj Art initiative. Apart from art exhibitions and public art projects, the initiative also focuses on incubating talent by bringing together skill and creativity by opening its factory floors to both Indian and International artists.

Shujaat Husain Khan is one of the greatest North Indian classical musicians of his generation. Hailing from the Imdad Khan gharana of the sitar and his style of playing sitar, known as the gayaki ang, is imitative of the subtleties of the human voice. Shujaat Khan's musical pedigree extends seven generations and he has performed at prestigious music festivals in India and overseas. He was the sole artist representing India in a special performance at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in Geneva  in 2007 commemorating India's independence that year. “It is a very good concept by the organizers, Perfect Harmony. They have recognized such a great talent at the age of 10 years. My blessings to child prodigy who would be painting live on classical music", says Shujaat Husain Khan.

Aarav Verma is a 10 year old talented child with a way with colours and strokes that is awakens a spectator’s wonder. He has partaken in many events in Indian and overseas including Wunderkind, an Exhibition of his solo paintings in IHC, New Delhi & FBMI, Mina Zayed, Abu Dhabi in 2015. One of his Solo Paintings & Sculptures Exhibition is lined up at India Habitat Center, New Delhi from 8th – 10th November 2017. “I am very excited to paint live and it's going to be a lifetime experience to perform under musical the guidance of Shujaat Sir.”, says Aarav Verma
