Event Description : EXHIBITION "The Odyssey" A group art show.

The Odyssey -the journey of the human soul on it's quest to self realization. As a famous French philosopher once said 'We are not human beings having a spiritual experience ; we are spiritual beings having a human experience'. These experiences all constitute what we call the journey- the Odyssey of our individual lives as we ultimately  merge with the divine.

The exceptionally talented & sensitive artists of this exhibit are some of the prominent names in the growing art fraternity. Priyanka Batra's work is a clear image of her body mind & soul. The basic concept which revolved in priyanka's mind are close to thematic planes & nature. Another concept to which Priyanka Batra can relate to is womanhood on which she created a series of art works which showcased everything from mother nature to all quality a women posses. "Me & my works are entwined. What I mean here, is that i do find me in my work - as if my works are nothing but reflections of my thought process" - says Priyanka Batra

Somnath holds his inspirations in in mother nature, our culture & heritage. According to him "Our culture and heritage inspires us to be what we are today. Our identity, our behavior reflects our true education." - says Somnath. His works involve experimenting with all such experiences that he had  gather in life and that he see in his rich cultural background in West Bengal. Being a product from Santiniketan makes him independent of all dogmas and conditions. He create his works stimulated by all such interactions with human behavior with each passing day.Whereas, the multi-faceted artist Sumita Chandani who is not only a painter but also a
Sculptor, Painter, Singer, Skilled Calligrapher, Poet, Writer of Children's Educational Books and fiction, feel Art for her is an ongoing journey of Self Discovery and experimental works in variety of mediums. Her working style is abstract, modern and contemporary with experiments in semi realism as well. To do justice for her love for the French language and cinema, which have had a deep and lasting influence on her, many of her works carry the stamp of French culture and art.

Bhawna Arora's inspiration has been nothing but Vincent Van Gogh’s famous words,”I DREAM MY PAINTING AND THEN I PAINT MY DREAM.” This inspired her to dream, dream to make her thoughts come alive through her works. "Today when I look back at my journey so far I feel that art has been deeply personal sense of expression  for me." - says - Bhawana Arora. Her art is the strength that has helped her to transcend the lingual and cultural barriers. She feel it helps her experience our shared world a bit more closely, a bit more broadly than her own perspective will ever allow.
"My paintings is analysis of myself which will reflect my temperament, the colors that I use help me to provoke, heal, inform certain mood or message in the viewer. The cheerful orange, the powerful red,  the feeling of hope in yellow, the cool expansiveness and openness of blue, the simplicity, purity and freshness of white, this is what I am made of. These paintings are answers to my questions in the search of becoming a better person" - quotes Bhawana. Sanjukta on the other hand took understanding of mind & heart as her inspiration for this series. This journey so far has rewarded her in understanding her intuition and travelling from the mind to her heart as taking up an uncharted path and tapping into the creative world as a Painter . The continuous dialogue with her inner self gave her the clarity that though the path to soul searching and contemplation is lonesome and arduous but the journey 'The Odyssey' gives me an immense sense of tranquility and absolutely worth meandering

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS:  Priyanka Batra , Sanjukta , Bhawna Arora , Sumita Chandani and Somnath
