conceptualized by Jyoti Kalra.

‘Artistagram a folder of art’ is an inspiring initiative and outstanding curative vision to present ample artistic creations in many forms such as painting, drawing, sculpture and photography transmitting diverse thoughts and ideas delving into a variety of materials and techniques. A transitory glimpse over the word ‘Artistagram’ will take the viewers to a space of absolute creative thinking as it is a thoughtful blending of two words ‘Artist’ and ‘Gram’, resulting to an iconic meaning of ‘artist conveying a message’ through their artwork, as ‘Gram’ refers to the message.
‘Artistagram a folder of art’ is presenting selected artists to put forward their unique imaginative expressions. This exhibition highlights original creative statements by the artists that have come up with, to make a collection of experimental contemporary masterpieces, embellished with distinctiveness, spruced up with simplicity and kindled with lively spirit. The precise collection of artworks will incorporate wide-ranging themes and hues in a vibrant folder. Every artwork is radiant with visual abundance of beauty and brilliantly articulated with individualistic dynamic style. As the theme refers ‘Artistagram a folder of art’ is about the‘conveying a message’ or ‘making a statement’ by the artists. All human beings as a part of society express their point of view in different ways that is natural outcome of any active soul. Artists are no different; they too belong to the same society and might be little more sensitive in general. So it is a spontaneous way that they express their views through a chosen visual language, be it protesting against evils or affirming the dilemma and so on. Artists’ works are always considered as visual documentation of the society which is true and closer to real world enriched with artist’s insight in addition to skilful application of materials and modus operandi. ‘Artistagram a folder of art’ undoubtedly means to value the artist’s statement and is undertaking a great responsibility by introducing those creative opinions straight from the artists’ studios to the public view for better exposure and healthier debate.
The curator’s choice for ‘Artistagram a folder of art’ includes realistic, semi-realistic and abstract representations of artists’ thoughts and ideas. Nature, humanity and conceptual forms with vibrating colours and textures are variedly explored by the participating artists according to their specific preferred style of expression. Some of the notable artworks are charismatic and aesthetically appealing to create feast for the viewers’ eyes.
Sailesh Sanghvi’s ‘To the Fairground’ presents blissful recreation of village ‘Mela’ showing the spectacular active entertainers like jugglers, acrobats, magicians, actors, dancers, singers depicted with painstaking details of the surrounding that comprises monkeys watching human activities with interest, a pot-maker with his donkey laden with earthen pitchers combined with modern additions like photographer’s shops and mechanical rides with a portrayal of decorative sky. Bhaskar Singhna’s illusive forms are infused with soothing colours. Shobha Jolly’s photographic expressions of passionate dance moves invoke spiritual line of action taking towards a magical journey. Her candid captures are enthralled with mystical pleasure of performers.  Tanisha Bakshi’s monochromic expression of tribal mother and child creates a dramatic appeal embraced with humane urge. Balesh Jindal’s figurative works are pleasantly colourful influenced by impressionism style representing feminine forms with a spiritual essence.Tapasya Gupta’s semi realistic sculptural representation of female figure brings in an antique edition of contemporary style with the metal and it’s patina. An optimistic artist Anushree Gupta communicates through strong colours that transmit her sacred intention. Her vital and deepest emotional attachment is brought forward by the array of bright colours through its vibrancy. Her art forms are characterized with clear outlines, shapes and bold colours.
