Event Description : WORKSHOP “Art in Process: Transforming Pain” by Edmundo dos Santos

Synopsis: The “Workshop – Transforming Pain" is an Art in Process – An ritual of healing and community renewal.
It is an invitation to to join expressive arts for transforming pain escenes.; A space of multiple resonance suitable for the development of the creative personality of the subject and that offers the possibility of developing a process of artistic creation and production from the contact and exchange with the different expressive arts: art, dance and movement, poetry, drama and music. The interest of this modality is centered in the creative process as a potential of transformation, in the subjectivity as source and matter for the artistic construction, in the aesthetic experience guided by the own experienced experience, in the creative will and the artistic practice - the impulse vital that originates and (re) creates something new. Participants are assumed as creators and performers of creative-artistic activity, starting from the subjectivity, interests or significant aspects of the singular look, as a creative and nourishing matter to develop in artistic action.

Aims: 
• Promote creative process and transforming pain throught creativity
• To help sort through the artwork and make sense of their history
• Strengthen internal spaces of containment and holding painful.
• Develop a positive sense of self
• Recreate t storylive through art, creative process and images
• Encourage the distance and finding new psychological and emotional resources.
• Transforming painful through the beautiful aesthetic experience.

Teacher: Edmundo dos Santos has a post-graduate specialization on Art Therapy Transdisciplinary, and a Master of Art therapy Transdisciplinary and Develop life Human in the Institute of Sociology and Applied Psychology at the University of Leuk, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of
Coimbra (Portugal). He has a large experience on art therapy applied to neurological rehabilitation, on technical intervention and community education with young people and childhood, on art therapy applied to rehabilitation of children with trauma and sexual abuse, art therapy for women empowerment. He has curated the project "Art in el Raval in the Body of a Woman" sposored by La Caixa, and the encounter between professionals in the field of arts, social sciences and humanities on "Art, Gender and Identity" held in the Palau de la Virreina (Barcelona).
