Event Description : THEATRE "So Called Gentleman" Hindustani Comedy Play

"So Called Gentleman" is an adaption of a French play The Bourgeois Gentleman written by Moliere. Story unfolds gently, satirizing the pretensions of the social climber whose affections are absurd to everyone but himself. The would be gentleman is Mr. Kumar who hires different tutors like musician, boxer, dancer and philosopher to engaged with showy acts in order to acquire gentlemanly polish. His wife who is aware of this foolishness tries to enlighten him via different ways. His daughter who loves a middle class boy but after getting denial from her father get engaged with him through an organized plan. As Mr. Kumar's subnormal intelligence affectionate with rich people's culture and manners, takes him to a ridiculous length of nobility and lastly traces him as an insane comical case.

About the director : Atul Satya Koushik is an alumnus of Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC, Delhi) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He holds a degree in Law. In his early 30s, he has already written 12 full length theatre plays and produced and directed them with over 250 shows in different parts of India. He has proven his versatility by giving super hit theatre productions of different genres one after another. He is often credited for pioneering modern commercial theatre in Delhi, running many ticketed shows to full houses on trot and roping in celebrities in his theatre productions. His famous plays include Raavan Ki Ramayan, Chakravyuh, Wo Lahore, Draupadi, Kahani Teri Meri, Couple Trouble etc.

About The Films and Theatre Society (FTS) FTS has been writing, directing, producing and marketing commercial theatre productions in different parts of India since 2009. Many of its productions feature famous Film, TV and theatre personalities and all of them put together offer a wide range of themes, genres and presentation styles. It has also been conceptualising, organising and marketing various theatre and arts’ festivals at large scale putting together artists, sponsors and audience for larger-than- life arts extravaganzas.
