Event Description : EXHIBITION : A Solo Show of Sculptures & Paintings by Gurmeet Goldie of Chandigarh.

The soul reason of me working on this exhibition is solely dependent on relationships. We seem to have been losing the values and ethics of our society and our families are growing apart. Good and strong relationships will always lead us to the positive and healthy lifestyle which everyone seems to be striving for. When this happens our mind will be free from all the worries of the world and THAT according to me is the correct way of living. I have been experimenting alot with the sculptures and paintings using different techniques, materials and subjects. My inspiration comes from within the nature itself because there is no higher power than that. It has always connected me to my god and that is reflected in my work itself . And when Im in that zone , I feel the power in and around me which I feel is a blessing.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gurmeet Goldie was born in the year 1964. She did BFA from College of Arts, Chandigarh in the year 1986. She did many solo shows in different states of India which includes the Department of Fine Arts, Panjab University (Chandigarh), Sheesh Mahal, (Patiala), Sangar (Delhi 1997) and many more. since 1983. She participated in many workshops related to sculpting and painting with different educational Institutions like Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Academy, AIFACS Delhi, APJ College Jalander etc.

She received many awards like State Award (1994 and 2015), State commendation Award (2012), Artist of the Year (We Group . 2016 ) and honoured & appreciated by many institutions.
