Event Description : WALK : Sahapedia presents “Refuge of the world”

Wondrous and mysterious, this capital city built by the Tughlaq emperor Mohammad Bin Tughlaq in the 14th century has remains of a citadel and palace complex, a huge congregational mosque and public buildings of later periods. Mohammad connected the older cities, Lal Kot, then Old Delhi, and Siri of Alauddin Khalji, enclosed these cities and built his new city in the center as a royal citadel. Today, the city only survives in certain small sections with ruins of fortifications and structures surrounded by urban structures and villages.
