About the Show:

“Murlidhar” An Exhibition of Paintings by Namish Arora, on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami.

When we talk about art, it is always about capturing variety of hues, moods and emotions present in the universal realm and beyond. Similarly, when we think about the most vivid portrayal in the realm of gods, no façade can be better than the image of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna stands for amalgamation of all the shades of life into one-love, truth, loyalty, justice and also the most humanly essence one can experience in the image of a God. That is what makes Lord Krishna a vibrant personality- a charming persona who has thousands of names and even more number of disguises and roleplays that capture this magical aura and his multiplicity. His omnipresence in every realm, whether on earth or heaven, is what makes him magnetic, dynamic and hence the vibrancy of life can all be enclosed under the name of one enchantment-‘Krishna’.

It is this charisma which Mr. Namish Arora has brought forth in his paintings which are the most illustrative representation of the God’s personality, the polychromatic identity, and his omnipresence. ‘Murlidhar’, one of the many alias of Krishna, is the title of the exhibition organized at Roop Chand Art Gallery which is an exquisite display of the artist’s talent that bring to the canvas the vivid imagery of different perspectives of Krishna flooded with different colors, similar to what Lord Krishna stands for.

One cannot deny the captivating force which has been the inherent and very definitive feature of Lord Krishna’s eyes. This is something you can find in many of the artist’s paintings, especially in “Power of Expressions”, “Enlightenment” and“Trishna”, which portray the tranquility and the enchantment interwoven when it comes to Krishna’s eyes. “Shades of Divine” is a very exemplary representation of Lord Krishna as this work is a splendid fusion of all the vibrant shades one could see, which is what all Krishna is about.

One cannot think about Krishna without his flute, which is one of his favourite assets and is a defining feature of his image.“Fortunate Flute” talks about the same and also how fortunate that flute is which is so loved by the god himself, and also you can see the flute figure in “Bliss of Moksha”.  Apart from the epitomic blue colour that represents Krishna’s image in “Lord of Love” and “Gem of Loyalty”, the artist also uses a creative technique of blue and black backgrounds with golden outlining defining Krishna’s image in his works titled “Saanwariya” and “Krishna”. Thus the paintings through art capture all what is associated to the aura of Krishna-love, colourplay, charm and universality.
