Event Description : Teamwork Arts Presents "Step Into My Parlour" with Edinburgh-based Irish singer Michelle Burke

Michelle Burke is an acclaimed singer from rural East Cork, Ireland. She has spent the best part of a decade living in Edinburgh where she has collaborated with many of the top artists working in the vibrant Scottish folk scene.

Having spent two years as the lead singer with Irish American super group, Cherish the Ladies, Michelle is fast gaining a reputation as a solo artist. She is an impressive interpreter of songs with a timelessly expressive, exquisitely nuanced voice.

Michelle is also an experienced music educator and has worked as a singing teacher and workshop facilitator for many organisations and groups over the years.In June 2013 Michelle was commissioned by Enterprise Music Scotland’s small traditional arts fund to pilot a project for creative work with older people. Michelle tailored the framework of the show ‘Step into my Parlour’ and delivered a series of workshops in Corstorphine Dementia project and Murrayfield Care home in Edinburgh, bringing a purpose to the entertainment that Step Into My Parlour undoubtedly is.

Michelle performs at Depot 29 on the 3rd of March, QLa on the 5th of March, and at The Piano Man Jazz Club on the 6th of March. She will also perform at the exclusive opening reception of the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) 2016 in New Delhi on March 4th.
