Event Description :
TALK : Youth for Heritage Foundation presents "Lost Heritage: Sikh Legacy In Pakistan" by author Amardeep Singh.

As part of Heritage Series.

"LOST HERITAGE - The Sikh Legacy in Pakistan", one man's journey in search of community's roots, is a lavishly illustrative exploration across West Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan Administered Kashmir that uniquely captures the distinctive Sikh contribution to the spiritual, social, cultural and architectural history of present-day Pakistan, over which a curtain was drawn when India and the Punjab were partitioned in 1947. Should the legacy in the land where Sikhism was founded and the Sikhs had created an empire, be limited to the few functional Sikh temples in present-day Pakistan? Are there any remains of the Sikh era that can provide insights into the erstwhile society? To satisfy this quest, the author embarked on a journey of discovery across 36 cities in Pakistan, investigating vestiges and assimilating diverse strands of this community. This 60-chapter narrative, spread over 504 pages is interspersed with 507 colour photographs, and accompanied by over 55,000 words that form the story-line.
