Event Description : 25th Jubilee Celebration of the Indian Cancer Society. No talk of Disease or Death; just music, dance, & very importantly, recognition of the hard working Doctors whose support we enjoy - 2 hours of pure joie d'vivre.
Indian Cancer Society headquarters in Mumbai is a voluntary health NGO and has been working in the field of cancer control since 1953. The Delhi operations started in 1983. Indian cancer Society- Delhi has been working on a twin pronged approach of providing awareness and screening services to the citizens of Delhi for over 33 years as we firmly believe that only an aware individual will be able to conquer cancer by choice not chance.
ICS has a team of dedicated workers who conduct awareness talks and distribute IEC material in schools, colleges, institutions, slums, JJ colonies, corporate houses at no cost
The preventive screening services consisting of ENT, Chest X-ray, hemogram,examination of men by a male physician, clinical breast examination, pap smear and mamograms on a need basis are offered at a highly subsidized rate at our Detection centre at Barbar road - Bengali market.
MobileOut reach services are available where screening can be done at various sites are also on offer.
Indian Cancer Society's unit ICS Cancer Sahyog volunteers visit 10 leading hospitals of Delhi and NCR providing emotional as well as a measure of financial support to individuals affected and afflicted by cancer.
We also work at mainstreaming individuals back to normal living by providing complementary therapies, bras and body forms to mastectomy patients, lymphedema press , services of dexascan at nominal costs.
