Event Description :
"Quest - Inner Self" a solo art show by Ella Prakash

Curated by Samir Ceric, Founder of Debut Contemporary London

Abstract figurative artist Ella Prakash will be displaying 30 selected pieces of her work in acrylic, broadly defined by ethereal figures, geometric lines and shapes that carry a cerebral tone personal to the artist. With the exhibition Quest to seek Inner self, Ella Prakash, an Indian artist born and brought up in Bahrain aspires to create a contemplative journey for the viewer. Ella says, “My art is a symbol of growth and perfection and this journey is an exploration of a woman’s sense of self and healing.”

The painting series start with ‘In Search of my Soul’ and slowly progress through various paintings, expressing each emotion that is vital in reaching the final stage ‘Found my Soul’. The show is curated by Samir Ceric, Founder of Debut Contemporary London, who won the prestigious h.Club 100 Industry award, and was selected as one of the UK’s top 10 most influential, visionary and pioneering businesses in art and design, competing alongside the likes of TATE, V&A, the Fine Art Society and Turner Prize winners and nominees.

Ella’s strong support of liberal feminism can be traced to her initial works. From the beginning, she understood that different genders go through various stages to learn and connect with a beautiful blend of various emotions that helps in discovering the inner self. Speaking about the show, Ella shares, “The paintings are the results of my personal journey and I have tried to put it in my work to give the viewer a greater understanding of how women pass through different stages in life in order to complete the Quest for Inner Self.” The works display a blend of warm and bold colors precisely contained in calculated strokes that offer a sense of illusory realism. The anatomies of the abstract figures juxtaposed with geometric shapes are Ella’s signature allegories for the vibrant, ever changing self.
