Event Description :
"Koin" an art show by Korean and Indian artists Mun Jang Hee and Devendra Shukla.

Devendra and Mun are an indo Korean couple and has collaborated to put their thoughts in title ‘ Koin’ They have been actively exhibiting and making their presence felt in the contemporary art scenario. They have both distinctly individual style and are very much aware of their strong oriental roots. By exploring their ancient heritage and combining it with the modern and contemporary, they are making a statement that is unique and at once holds the viewer into a trance. There is a need for different expressions in art today and this couple is an example that is worth a second look.

Devendra feels that art not only plays with the subconscious mind but can act as a healer. Art is versatile medium to not only appeal ones’ senses but to stir and arouse the inner most core of our existence. Art frequently forays into the spiritual world and explores the unanswered question and mysteries. Devendra did his masters in fine art and did research in Finland and China. Among various recognitions, he is also recipient of Awards from Sahitaya Kala Parishad, AIFACS, CIMO Finland and Ministry of Culture India.  He has traveled extensively across several countries of Asia and Europe and done solo exhibitions in India, china, south Korea and Finland and participated regularly in group exhibitions.

Mun originally from South Korea has imbibed Indian culture and ethos seamlessly. She has been exhibiting her works for quite some time and is aware of the art scene in India. She has chosen to express her thoughts and innermost feelings in an abstract display. She is both forceful and lyrical at the same time. This gives her an edge in expressing deepest thoughts in a way that talks the viewer into submitting their attention whole heartedly. Mun did her graduation from South Korea and China. She has done solo and group exhibitions in India, china, Finland and South Korea and received recognitions and Awards.
