Event Description :  "Trunk Show – Style for a Cause"

Trunk Show - Style for a Cause is curated for fashionistas and discerning shoppers with a taste for ingenious fabrics and fits. It brings together an exclusive ensemble of some of the most edgy and sought-after young designers who are carefully handpicked from all over India for a good cause.

Some of them like Love Birds, Anavila, Mayank Anand & Shraddha Nigam and Lotus Sutr will be showcasing designs that they very recently presented at the Mumbai Fashion Week.

Tagged as Style for a Cause, the show is held in aid of Concern India Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports over 270 grassroots programme across India, working at the grassroots level in the areas of education, health and community development.

Here is a sneak peek into the exclusive ranges of some of the featured designers:

Lovebirds
Lovebirds is an evolving brand that is constantly experimenting with fashion, art, graphics and music. With straight lines, comfortable and effortless silhouettes and pastel undertone colouring, the collection is a graphic representation of the delicate urban issues of beauty and appearances.
Gestalt by Malvika Vaswani
Malvika Vaswani is a young Mumbai designer who started her design journey at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is a combination of hand construction, geometric forms and radical industrial techniques. This process manifests in pieces that are truly unique, each a statement of minimal, confident and honest beauty.
Akaaro
Akaaro focuses on reviving contemporary Indian hand woven textiles. It experiments with different regional materials alongside unconventional fabrics that result in specialised products signifying the importance of handcrafting over mechanised production.
GUAPA
Guapa is a fun label specialising in resort wear. Their styles are effortless, colourful and most importantly comfortable. The designer has a penchant for picking special elements from the everyday ordinary. Guapa’s aim is to provide fuss free clothing that can be worn with brogues as easily as it can be worn with heels!
Example Clothing
Example Clothing is about heritage, humour and great design. It is inspired by idiosyncrasies - the little oddities in all people and cultures. Every piece they make is a part of the stories about these people and artisans they admire.
Anavila
The collection - "A Summer Stroll" is derived from a strong love for nature. This fashion line merges geometric designs with botanical motifs, irregular shapes and marks to juxtapose the urban and natural environs. It’s an expression of the balance we are seeking in our modern lives.
