Step in to the world of fantasy as Marvel Art Gallery brings ‘The World of Ravindra Salve’, a sublime mythology inspired art show where expressions of the artist come to life on canvas. The solo show of the Mumbai based artiste is themed on the ‘Fantasy Art’ genre. The series features Greek figures and Indian miniatures that portray positivity, happiness and success. The ‘invented mythology’ series has a distinct imagery with the characters amalgamating in conventional representation and dance notations - all in symbolic realization.
Favouring vibrant hues, Ravindra Salve's canvases incorporate bold use of Indian colour
suggesting a virtual flight of fantasy - figurative and religious. Salve has used figures and shapes that dominate the canvas with larger than life images, in sense of proportion as well as colour.
Marvel Art Gallery has also launched a book on the artist titled “The World of Ravindra Salve”. The aim behind the book was to showcase Salve’s present series and reach to the masses – the learners, art lovers and the next generation artists.
In addition, the gallery’s graphic house ‘Marvel Graphic Studio’ has produced Salve’s limited edition serigraphs under their ‘Affordable Art Series' - which has a set of 6 serigraphs in a portfolio and a new launch of limited edition serigraph under the same ‘affordable art series’ in which a 3 x 3 ft. print will be just for INR 7,000 only.
‘The World of Ravindra Salve’ has been (project director and written the book) by Chaitya Dhanvi Shah.
Talking about Salve’s work, Chaitya Shah, MD, Marvel Art Gallery says, “The decorative style, the bright Indian colours, the impressive figures, likable supporting characters, miniature style and the Indian soul make Salve’s paintings an instant source of liking from sections of people, irrespective of age or genre. His art is impressive and a thing of learning for the generations to come that how ecstasy is conceived in creating a master painting.”
