Event Details : Old World Theatre Festival 2009 - A Feroz Abbas Khan Festival.
The Old World Theatre Festival now in its eighth year is regarded as one of the foremost Theatre Festivals in the city with a distinct identity of its own. This year, the festival plays host to actor-director Feroz Abbas Khan's contribution to the cosmos of theatre. Being instrumental in bringing Hindi theatre mainstream recognition, he is also known for exploration in theatrical representations and for directing some of India's finest acting talent.
Thre will be screening of Gandhi: My Father, the directorial debut film by Feroz A Khan on December 9 at 7:00pm. Audience get a chance to interact with the director before the screening.
In addition to the main plays, there’s a special segment, the Best Of Collegiate Theatre (schedule attached separately) where the best performances from the Delhi University colleges will be staged.

Funny, poignant, the play is a fascinating and moving insight into the world of an Indian joint family in a racially segregated Indian township in South Africa.

Ramlal is caught in a web of installment payments, technological obsolescence and retrenchment. Finding reality unbearable, he keeps slipping into illusions and nostalgia to make some sense of his life and reaffirm his dignity - an ordinary man with extraordinary dreams.
