Event Details : On the occasion of the photo exhibition on Werner Herzog, Film must be physical‟ Max Mueller Bhavan presents a retrospective of Werner Herzog's films in collaboration with IIC.
Most of the films will be presented by an eminent film scholar and/or artist, who would give a brief introduction to the film
14th April : Aguirre, the Wrath of God ( 93', 1972 )
Presented by Shuddhabrata Sengupta, Raqs Media Collective
In this experimental adventure film the ruthless and insane Aguirre leads a Spanish expedition in search of El Dorado in16th century.
16th April : Fata Morgana ( 79', 1970 )
Presented by Rashmi Doraiswamy, Jamia Milia University
An abstract, experimental parable dealing with human life on earth, shot in and around the Sahara.
21st April : Kaspar Hauser - Every man for himself and God against all ( 109', 1974 )
Presented by Pankaj Bhutalia, filmmaker
The film is based on the true and famous story of a young man, who suddenly appeared in 1828 and claimed he has grown up in the total isolation of a darkened cell.
23rd April : My best fiend - Klaus Kinski ( 95', 1999 )
The film deals with the very special love-hate relationship between the director Herzog and the actor Kinski.
